Save world’s rarest orangutans from UK-owned gold mine

Save rare orangutans from UK-owned gold mine

A gold mine could push the most endangered species of orangutans to extinction. All for extra profits for UK-owned conglomerate Jardine Matheson.

The Martabe gold mine has already destroyed huge swathes of the Batang Toru forest in Indonesia. It’s the only home of the last few hundred Tapanuli orangutans.

Now, the mining company wants to expand deeper into the forest, threatening more precious wildlife and local communities. That’s why, alongside Friends of the Earth Indonesia (WALHI), we’re calling on you to act.

Tell Jardine Matheson to stop the Martabe gold mine expansion before it's too late. Our forests and the  communities that live there are worth more than gold.
