Stop our seas from getting the raw sewage treatment

Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Chris Heaton-Harris is proposing to pump raw sewage into Northern Irish seas. By imposing a budget cut that will slash funding for water treatment.

His proposal could take us back to Victorian levels of sanitation. With critical sanitation services at risk, we could see untreated sewage making its way into our beaches, streets, businesses and even homes.

That’s why we’re calling out his gross plans in our open letter.

In England and Wales, sewage pollution is already making beaches unsafe, harming biodiversity and the wellbeing of communities. Instead of learning from the mistakes that led to this toxic mess, Chris Heaton-Harris wants these unsanitary measures considered by the Department for Infrastructure.

Add your name to our open letter to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland today. Demand that this unworkable budget cut is scrapped before it causes untold damage to our coasts and communities.
