Demand action on the UK's illegal deforestation

The government has once again failed to address the UK’s role in destroying the world’s precious forests – this time at the UN climate talks.

Our leaders continue to allow big businesses to hide their shady practices, meaning we’re still unknowingly buying products linked to illegal deforestation.

The Amazon rainforest, where the talks were held, would’ve been the perfect place to announce long-overdue action to stop this. Instead of ending the UK’s complicity in forest destruction, the government stayed silent.

But we’re not keeping quiet. The government can make a start by finally delivering a law promised 4 years ago, that would keep products linked to illegal deforestation off our shelves. Officials say it’s still on the table, so now is the time to ramp up the pressure.

Please email Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds and demand action on illegal deforestation now.
